About UKVARL

The UK Virtual Air Rifle League (UKVARL) is a national bell target league for air rifle and air pistol shooters who want to compete regularly without the travelling. You shoot at your own club, on your own range night, and your card is entered, checked and published online — so every member can see exactly where they stand against shooters and clubs across the country.

UKVARL is run by The Guild of Jewellery Designers, which funds and administers the league as a not-for-profit community project supporting grassroots bell target shooting.

• A traditional British discipline shot indoors at a small steel target, at 6 or 7 yards (18 or 21 feet).
• A card is a set number of shots, each scored to a decimal — a perfect centre shot scores 5.1, which is where the league's famous "5.1 Club" gets its name.
• The equipment is modest and the skill ceiling is enormous, which makes it one of the friendliest ways into competitive shooting.

• Virtual League: submit cards through the season and climb the individual standings. Rifle and pistol are scored as separate disciplines.
• Shooter divisions: every shooter sits in a division based on their current average — Bullseye Elite (39.1 and above), Marksman (32.1 to 39) and Clubman (32 or below) — so you are always compared with shooters of similar form.
• Team and club leaderboards: club teams are ranked on their cumulative aggregate score across the season.
• The 5.1 Club: a running table of the members who have posted the most 5.1s.
• Knockout Cup: a seeded, single-bracket tournament across all divisions, producing one overall champion each season.
• Team challenges: challenge another club to a friendly match, propose dates and agree a fixture online.
• Internal club matches: club officials can organise and score matches between their own members.
• Physical leagues: clubs already shooting in a traditional home-and-away league can run their fixtures, line-ups and results here too.
• Progress charts: track your averages, best cards and division movement across the whole season.

• Any member of a recognised air rifle or airgun club in the UK where bell target shooting is conducted safely and lawfully.
• New members join as probationary users and are approved by a club official or league administrator before they can post scores.
• Anyone can create a free account to follow the leagues, teams and results. A yearly subscription unlocks score entry, competitions and personal statistics.

• Every card is entered by a nominated scorer and confirmed by a nominated checker — shooters cannot score or check their own cards.
• Cards are locked once signed off, and administrators may ask to see the physical card at any time.
• The league runs on trust between clubs, and we ask every member to protect it.
